Jollyville is a census-designated place (CDP) located in both Williamson and Travis Counties. The neighborhood is part of north Austin. The land was originally settled by Henry Rhodes, but earned its name from John G. Jolly, a later settler to the area. Jolly and his wife operated a blacksmith store and donated land for a cemetery and school. 

Jollyville contained only 20 families up until 1960. Austin's growth led to the neighborhood's growth and development as a suburban community. The homes in Jollyville are mostly small to medium sized apartments and many residences were built between 1970-1999 as well as from 2000 to now.
